In addition to the manned toll booths, each toll station is equipped with at least one tolling machine for both directions.
At these machines drivers of vehicles with a maximum permissible gross weight of up to 3.5 tons (cars, motorbikes and campervans) can pay the toll in cash, by credit card, Austrian Maestro cards or with fuel cards. The machine – which also gives change for cash purchases – accepts coins and bills (up to EUR 20). Please press the designated button to receive a printed receipt.
! Note: Please make sure you retain your receipt. If you continue your journey on the A 13 motorway within 24 hours, the toll paid will be credited against the cost of the toll card required for the A 13.
! Note: In the event of unexpected problems, please press the help button on the tolling machine and you will be connected via the intercom to toll station staff.
At the toll stations, holders of annual toll cards and/or video toll cards may also use the lanes equipped with tolling machines as video toll systems are installed there. In the rare event that the system fails to automatically identify your license plate (e.g. because it is obscured by dirt), please hold your annual toll card or your video toll card with the bar code section up to the tolling machine’s scanner and follow the instructions displayed on the screen. Please note that annual toll cards are NOT sold at the tolling machines, but have to be purchased either at manned toll booths, the ARBÖ or ÖAMTC service centers or on the Internet at www.videomaut.at.
