In the year 2017, a total of 2,625 hours were invested in occupational safety and prevention. In addition, all employees could avail themselves of a broad range of training opportunities, and we developed our own work safety app! Read more about it under Health & Safety.
During the past year, we put special focus on the topic of diversity. Based on a comprehensive survey of the present situation, we developed a concept with which we hope to achieve continual improvements over the coming years. With the current proportion of more than 22% women in top management, we are well above the Austrian average of about 7%, but we want to further increase this percentage – and especially also the proportion of women in the total workforce. In the area of training and further development, we have invested in e-learning modules during the last two years, and we even received an award for this! At the same time we started an apprenticeship initiative and hired the first two apprentices in 2015. In 2017 it was already seventeen. By 2020 we would like to gradually raise this number to 27. Since 2017, ASFINAG also has its own Diversity and Apprenticeship Manager: Anna Wallner.
Our employees' appreciation of ASFINAG as an employer is demonstrated by our low fluctuation rate: In 2017 it was only 2.4% (2016: 2.0%). We can also report the encouraging results of the annual employee survey: the overall satisfaction index on a scale from 1 (high) to 5 (low) improved from an already very positive value of 2.2 to an even better 2.1.
